Cameroon climbed nine places after winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), moving ahead of Morocco in the global standings. The Atlas Lionesses finished fourth in the continental tournament, which they hosted.
Malawi emerged as the ranking’s biggest success story, soaring 49 places to 104th worldwide after reaching the WAFCON final and securing historic qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
Elsewhere in Africa, Tanzania climbed 11 places to 111th, while Egypt suffered the continent’s biggest drop, falling 14 places to 113th.
Globally, Spain (2121.50 points) retained first place ahead of the United States (2042.38), with Germany (2034.62) completing the top three.
For Morocco, maintaining fourth place in Africa is a solid base, but the latest rankings highlight the challenge of regaining ground as other African teams continue to progress.
