Rabat – Chelsea are reportedly planning to sign Moroccan international Gessime Yassine in the future, with the London club closely following his performances at French side Strasbourg.
According to a report published by TEAMtalk on Tuesday, Chelsea and their ownership group, BlueCo, are impressed by the 20-year-old winger’s development and intend to bring him to Stamford Bridge at a later stage.
The report indicates that Yassine is open to joining Chelsea, although the timing of a potential transfer remains uncertain.
The London club could make its move in 2027 or allow the Moroccan international to continue developing at Strasbourg before bringing him into its first-team plans.
Several Premier League clubs interested in Yassine
Yassine’s performances in Ligue 1 have reportedly attracted interest from several English clubs, including Brighton, Newcastle United, Sunderland, Brentford, Everton and Nottingham Forest.
The Moroccan winger has scored two goals and provided two assists in seven Ligue 1 appearances this season, strengthening his reputation among young attacking players in France.
However, Chelsea have an advantage over their Premier League rivals because of their connection with Strasbourg through BlueCo, which owns both clubs.
The ownership arrangement allows Chelsea to monitor Yassine’s progress closely and assess when he might be ready to compete in the Premier League.
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea view the Moroccan international as a long-term option rather than an immediate addition to their squad.
Yassine continues his rise in French football
Yassine joined Strasbourg from Dunkerque in January 2026 after attracting attention with his performances in France’s second division.
The Moroccan international has since established himself in Ligue 1, notably scoring twice in Strasbourg’s 2-1 win over Lens in August.
His progress also earned him a place in Morocco’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he scored against Haiti, becoming the youngest Moroccan player to score at the tournament.
Chelsea’s reported interest represents another potential step in the winger’s career, although no official transfer agreement has been announced.
For now, Yassine remains a Strasbourg player, with Chelsea reportedly considering whether to pursue his signing in 2027 or at a later date.
