Casablanca – Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi is expected to take charge of Wydad Casablanca, according to CANAL+ Sport journalist Nasredine Nasri.
Nasri shared a photograph of himself with the coach on Instagram on Tuesday, introducing Nabi as Wydad’s new manager and stating that he would arrive in Casablanca that night.
The report follows several days of uncertainty over the future of Portuguese coach Paulo Sérgio, whose position has come under growing pressure after Wydad collected just five points from their first four Botola Pro matches.
Wydad have recorded one win, two draws and one defeat, leaving them ninth in the standings. Their latest outing ended in a 1-1 home draw against Amal Tiznit on Sunday, which extended their winless run at the Mohammed V Stadium.
The Portuguese coach only arrived in July, but the team’s disappointing performances and mounting criticism from supporters have placed his future under scrutiny.
Wydad have yet to formally announce either Sérgio’s departure or Nabi’s appointment.

A move to the Casablanca club would bring Nabi back to Moroccan football only months after his departure from city rivals Raja Casablanca in August.
The Tunisian previously coached AS FAR during the 2023–24 season, when the Rabat side finished second in the league and reached the Throne Cup final.
He later moved to South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs, where he won the Nedbank Cup in 2025, before returning to Morocco with Raja.
His experience in Moroccan football could prove valuable to Wydad, who are seeking an immediate improvement after their difficult opening weeks under Sérgio.
For now, supporters await an official announcement confirming the club’s next head coach.
