Rabat – Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, has attracted attention on social media after declaring that he does not need to work because he has millions.
The remarks came during an Instagram livestream in which Nasraoui complained about the lack of water at a drinking fountain for dogs in a park in Barcelona’s Pedralbes neighborhood.
According to Spanish newspaper El Español, the conversation took an unexpected turn when several viewers began questioning his lifestyle and financial situation, with one user telling him to find a job.
Nasraoui responded directly to the criticism, saying: “I don’t need to work, young man. I have millions, thank God.”
The exchange quickly circulated on social media, drawing reactions from users who questioned his comments and his financial dependence on his son.

The recent exchange is not the first time Nasraoui has addressed accusations that he lives off Yamal’s financial success.
During an earlier Instagram livestream, he responded to similar criticism, openly acknowledging the support he receives from his son.
“They ask me why I don’t go to work, saying that I live off my son,” Nasraoui said.
“Thank you, son. I will always be grateful to you. I will live off you for the rest of my life,” he added, in remarks interpreted by Spanish media as sarcastic.
Nasraoui has become increasingly active on social media following his son’s rise at Barcelona and with the Spanish national team.
His Instagram account, where he regularly shares personal videos and comments on various subjects, has attracted more than one million followers.
The latest controversy began with Nasraoui criticizing the condition of a public drinking fountain, which he claimed had been without water for two weeks.
He later shared another video showing that water had been restored to the fountain.
