Rabat– Morocco is gearing up to host the finals of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) and the Global Champions League (GCL) from October 30 to November 1, bringing together some of the world’s leading show-jumping riders.
The finals will bring together leading riders, horses, and teams to compete for the 2026 season titles. The GCL team final is scheduled for October 30, while the LGCT individual final will take place on November 1.
Founded in 2006, the Longines Global Champions Tour has become one of the leading international show-jumping series that attracts elite riders to venues around the world. The tournament that is set to take place in Rabat carries added significance as the tour celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Rabat made its debut on the tour in 2024, becoming the first African city to host the competition. The Moroccan capital returned to the calendar in 2025 and will now host the season finals for the first time in 2026.
The competition will take place in a specially designed equestrian village covering approximately 5.5 hectares in the heart of Rabat, between Hassan Tower, the Royal Theatre, and Mohammed VI Tower.
The three-day event will also feature cultural and artistic activities, equestrian shows, and musical performances, combining international competition with Morocco’s rich equestrian heritage.
The finals also show Morocco’s experience in hosting major equestrian events, including the Salon du Cheval d’Eljadida and the Moroccan Royal Tour. The country’s long-standing traditions, including Tbourida, further emphasize the importance of horses in Moroccan culture.
Following the Rabat finals, the international tour will move to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Global Champions Playoffs in November.
