Rabat – Moroccan international Gessime Yassine has attracted interest from six Premier League clubs, with Chelsea reportedly holding an advantage in the race to sign the Strasbourg winger.
According to transfer journalist Ekrem Konur, Nottingham Forest are among the clubs monitoring the 20-year-old, alongside Brighton, Newcastle United, Sunderland, Brentford and Everton.
The growing interest follows Yassine’s performances in Ligue 1, where he has established himself as a regular starter since joining Strasbourg from Dunkerque in January.
The Moroccan has scored two goals and provided two assists in seven league appearances this season, attracting attention from clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options with young players.
Chelsea hold advantage through BlueCo ownership
Despite competition from several English clubs, Chelsea are reportedly in a favorable position because of their ownership connection with Strasbourg.
Both clubs are controlled by BlueCo, allowing Chelsea to closely monitor Yassine’s development and assess the possibility of bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
According to TEAMtalk, the London club considers the Moroccan international a long-term option rather than an immediate addition to its first-team squad.
The report suggests Chelsea could pursue his signing in 2027 or allow him to continue gaining experience in France before making a move.
Yassine is also reportedly open to joining Chelsea in the future, although no agreement has been officially announced.
Yassine attracts attention following Strasbourg move
The winger joined Strasbourg in January after impressing at Dunkerque, where his performances in France’s second division drew interest from several European clubs.
His development has continued in Ligue 1, where he has started all seven of Strasbourg’s league matches this season.
Yassine, who can operate on either wing, also strengthened his reputation internationally after representing Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
His progress has made him an attractive prospect for English clubs, although Chelsea’s existing relationship with Strasbourg could influence his next career move.
For now, the Moroccan remains under contract with the French club, with no official announcement regarding a potential transfer to the Premier League.
