Rabat – Moroccan students achieved positive results at the fourth Arab Mathematics Olympiad, held in Doha from November 10 to 14. The national team secured a total of four medals, including one gold, one silver, and two bronze.
The results were announced during the closing ceremony after deliberations by the scientific committee. According to a statement from Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, these achievements reflect the team’s exceptional preparation and dedication.
Leading the team was Yassine Kamouh from the Casablanca-Settat region, who won the gold medal with an impressive score of 38 out of 40. Sami Moussaoui from the Oriental region earned the silver medal with a score of 32 out of 40.
Meanwhile, the two bronze medals went to Lina Chaker and Omar Hamidi from the Rabat-Sale-Kénitra region, scoring 14 and 13 out of 40, respectively.
The ministry of education extended congratulations to the students for their outstanding performance, saying it brought honor to Morocco in this prestigious scientific competition.

They also expressed gratitude to the students’ families for their support and to the central committee of Morocco’s National Mathematics Olympiad for their role in preparing the participants for this challenge.
This year’s competition brought together 22 Arab countries, each represented by a team of four students. Participants faced a single, rigorous 4.5-hour test designed to challenge their mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities.
The event featured several activities, including 12 scientific lectures about mathematical research and nine training workshops conducted by teachers from public schools and staff from Qatar University.
The Olympiad also featured scientific dialogue sessions delivered by mathematics experts and professors from the university, in addition to a STEM project exhibition for students of both public and private schools.
