Casablanca, March 21, 2013

Libya has been chosen guest of honor for the 19 edition of the Casablanca International Book Exhibition, to be held from March 29 to April 7.

According to a communiqué from the ministry of culture, the international book exhibition this year is going to celebrate the most prominent cultural manifestations in the Libyan scene.

The program will comprise an array of cultural events that will demonstrate the cultural accomplishments of the guest of honor.
The major Libyan cultural contribution in this international exhibition will be introduced to the public through four seminars on women’s voice in the Libyan literary life, child culture, the historical relations in the Maghreb and languages and dialects in the reagion.

Under the slogan “Refresh the Cultural Maghreb,” the public will have access to six lectures tackling topics such as translation in Libya, journalism, Libyan theater, the Nawba heritage, modern Libyan poetry and the Maghreb knowledge community.
In addition to that, the public will be accorded three poetic evenings representing three generations, a narrative evening and an exhibition of the artistic works of some Libyan painters.

45 researchers, poets and artists are expected to take part in the Libyan program for this year’s International Book Forum in Casablanca.
