Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Othmani announced on Sunday that Morocco will take part in the Friends of Syria meeting that will be hosted in Tunis on February 24.
Morocco fully support all efforts aiming at putting an end to bloodshed in Syria, said El Othmani on the sidelines of an Arab League meeting on Syria in Cairo.
Morocco will spare no effort to find a solution to the crisis in Syria, he added, voicing support for the brotherly Syrian people.
During the meeting, he said, Arab foreign ministers lauded Morocco’s initiative to present the Arab plan at the UN Security Council and deplored that the draft resolution on Syria was vetoed by China and Russia.
El Othmani pointed out that the Arab group at the UN General Assembly will present a draft resolution on settling the Syrian crisis.
The holding of the friends of Syria meeting with the participation of Arab states and key world players was proposed by Tunisia’s Foreign Minister during the Arab League’s meeting.
