Doha – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the comprehensive match schedule for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with Morocco and Comoros set to open the tournament on December 21, 2025, at the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat.
The tournament, spanning 29 days until January 18, 2026, will feature 52 matches across six cities and nine stadiums throughout Morocco.
Rabat will serve as the primary host city with four venues, while Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fes, and Tangier will each host matches in one stadium.
The quarter-finals will be distributed across four cities: Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, and Agadir.
The semi-finals will take place in Rabat and Tangier, with Casablanca’s Stade Mohammed V hosting the third-place playoff.
The tournament will conclude with the final at Rabat’s 69,500-capacity Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah.
The 24 participating teams were recently drawn into six groups, with hosts Morocco placed in Group A alongside Mali, Zambia, and opening-day opponents Comoros.
Record seven-time champions Egypt will face South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe in Group B, while defending champions Côte d’Ivoire were drawn in Group F with Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique.
This marks Morocco’s first time hosting the continental championship since 1988, as the nation prepares for its larger role as a co-host of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
