Rabat – Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance (DGST) in Morocco, conducted a working visit to France at the invitation of French security services. During his visit, he held discussions with his counterparts from the French National Police, internal security, and external security.
The talks focused on mechanisms to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas of common security interest, according to a statement from the DGSN-DGST Pole.
During the visit, which took place between June 26 and 28, Hammouchi held a series of meetings and discussions with Celine Berthon, Director General of Internal Security (DGSI), and Nicolas Lerner, Director General of External Security (DGSE).

The discussions focused on ways to enhance cooperation in the fight against terrorism and organized crime. It also aimed to elevate the levels of coordination and data exchange on intelligence and operations regarding threats from extremist organizations and transnational crime networks.
In addition, Hammouchi carried out intensive discussions with the Director General of the National Police (DGPN), Fréderic Veaux. The two officials reviewed advanced cooperation and coordination mechanisms in various security fields, particularly the proactive risk assessment and information exchange mechanisms in their joint efforts to ensure security during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
In recognition of the excellence of Moroccan-French cooperation in various security fields, Hammouchi was awarded the Gold Medal of Honor of the French National Police for his efforts in strengthening and developing common security cooperation.
The statement stressed that the visit provided an opportunity for both parties to explore ways to promote bilateral cooperation in several areas related to the fight against transnational crime, particularly drug and psychotropic trafficking, irregular immigration networks, human trafficking, and operational cooperation mechanisms for deploying and executing joint security operations.
The visit also underlines the importance of enhancing security cooperation between Morocco and France, which are engaged in several bilateral action and coordination programs to address common security challenges, the statement added.
