Casablanca – Morocco’s El Mehdi El Jamari is set to make his ONE Championship debut at ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs Knowles in the morning hours of April 5.
The Moroccan fighter will face Thai fan-favorite Thongpoon PK Saenchai in a strawweight Muay Thai contest inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium.
El Jamari joins compatriot Mouhcine Chafi on the ONE Fight Night 30 fight card as the latter faces England’s George Jarvis in a lightweight Muay Thai bout.
The Moroccan, who is the younger brother of fellow ONE Championship athlete Zakaria El Jamari who most recently suffered a defeat at ONE 172: Takeru vs Rodtang last Sunday, has won several international accolades, including the WBC and K-1 Muay Thai championship belts.
The 27-year-old also dominated the Muay Thai scene in Morocco, picking up seven national championships, and has been crowned Arab champion twice.
El Jamari faces an established fighter who will be looking to avenge his unanimous-decision defeat against the Moroccan’s older brother in May 2024.
Thongpoon most recently ended a two-loss streak with a stunning second-round knockout victory against former world title challenger Danial Williams.
ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs Knowles is headlined by two huge world title bouts.
In the main event, two-sport world champion Roman Kryklia will defend his ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai world championship against the experienced WBC Heavyweight Muay Thai world champion Lyndon Knowles.
Meanwhile, Regian Eersel defends his ONE Lightweight Kickboxing world championship as he faces Alexis Nicolas for the third time with the stars tied at 1-1.
ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs Knowles kicks off at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5 and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS.
