Rabat – Spanish airline Air Europa has announced that it is resuming its flights to Marrakech, starting April 6.

The route will operate twice per week, connecting Madrid-Barajas Airport and Marrakech.

The airline will offer over 20,000 seats on this route, with a Boeing 737 fleet.

Overall, Air Europa plans to allocate a total of over 40,000 seats to North Africa, including 20,000 for the Madrid-Marrakech route during the summer season this year.

The move is expected to contribute to Morocco’s tourism industry as the country is campaigning to attract tourists from across the world.

The North African country attracted 17.4 million tourists last year, exceeding the target initially set for 2026.

Morocco aims to attract 26 million tourists by 2030.

As of February, Morocco’s tourism revenues reached MAD 15.75 billion or $1.6 billion, reflecting a growth of 2.8% compared to the same period last year.

Nearly 2.7 million tourists visited Morocco by the end of February.

The country is set to welcome millions of tourists as it prepares to host prestigious events in the coming years.

Morocco is hosting the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) later this year, and the tourism office known as ONMT is mobilizing to promote the North African country as a premier destination.
