Rabat – In a significant move to reinforce Morocco’s presence on the international stage, King Mohammed VI received several newly appointed ambassadors on Monday at the Royal Palace in Rabat.

During the ceremony, the King handed them their official letters of appointment, marking the start of their new missions abroad.

Among the diplomats entrusted with representing Morocco are Ahmed Rida Chami, named Ambassador to the European Union, and Othman El Ferdaous, who heads to the Ivory Coast.

Majid Halim will take up his post in Malaysia, while Omar Amghar will represent Morocco in Serbia. Redouane Houssaini received his appointment for Indonesia, and Younes Dirhoussi for Saint Lucia.

The list also includes Najoua El Berrak, appointed to the Republic of the Congo, and Boutaina El Kerdoudi, who will serve in Bangladesh.

Abdelkader El Jamoussi will represent Morocco in Cameroon, Mohammed Iboumraten in Niger, Fatiha Layadi in Denmark, and Mustapha El Alami Fellousse in the Central African Republic.

Following the ceremony, nine of the ambassadors, including Omar Amghar, Redouane Houssaini, and Fatiha Layadi, took the oath of office before King Mohammed VI, affirming their dedication to their new roles.

The audience took place in the presence of Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, alongside Sidi Mohamed El Alaoui, Chamberlain to the King.

These new appointments signal Morocco’s continued pursuit of stronger diplomatic partnerships across multiple continents, from Europe and Africa to Asia and the Caribbean, at a time when global cooperation remains more essential than ever.
