Rabat – The Universite Privee de Fes (UPF) is set to kick off today its second edition of “Fez Design Days,” running from May 13-19. According to the event’s press release, this week-long extravaganza promises to be a celebration of design’s transformative power and its profound connection to craftsmanship.

The Fez Design Days will serve as a gathering point for both national and international luminaries in the fields of design and craftsmanship. The release details that through  a series of captivating conferences, insightful panels, and engaging workshops, participants will delve into the symbiotic relationship between design innovation and traditional craftsmanship.

At the heart of the event lies the “Salon de l’Artisanat,” a showcase of Morocco’s rich artisanal heritage.   The exhibit will offer a mesmerizing journey through the country’s diverse tapestry of artistry. From intricately woven textiles to exquisitely crafted ceramics, visitors will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the skill and dedication of local artisans.

“We are thrilled to host this esteemed gathering, bringing together visionaries and enthusiasts alike to explore the boundless possibilities of design and craftsmanship,” remarked UPF officials.

The Fez Design Days boast a diverse schedule of events designed to engage and inspire. Attendees can look forward to thought-provoking conferences on May 13-15, alongside masterclasses on May 13 and 14. The official inauguration of the Salon de l’Artisanat will take place on May 16, marking the commencement of four days filled with artistic marvels and cultural revelations.

Throughout the week, participants will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on workshops, allowing them to immerse themselves in various craft techniques and creative processes. Additionally, on May 18, there will be a documentary screening and exhibition, offering a deeper insight into the intersection of tradition and innovation.

Fez Design Days will culminate in what the organizers promise will be a memorable evening of traditional Moroccan music on May 19, providing the perfect finale to a week of inspiration and discovery.

According to the UFP, with its dynamic program and vibrant atmosphere, the Fez Design Days is set to stand as a beacon for those passionate about design, craftsmanship, and the rich tapestry of Moroccan culture. They emphasize that this  event is not to be missed by anyone seeking to be inspired and enlightened by the beauty of creative expression.
