Rabat – The conflict between Israel and Iran has taken a major turn, with the United States now officially joining the fight. US President Donald Trump announced that American forces have carried out airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the attacks were “very successful” and that all US planes have now left Iranian airspace. He added that a full set of bombs was dropped on the Fordow site and commended the US military.
“A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home,” he post reads.
“There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!” the US president added.
Trump added that he will deliver an address to the nation at 10:00 pm local time from the White House
This marks a major development, as the United States now officially joins Israel in its attacks against Iran.
The US airstrikes come in the wake of rapidly escalating tensions between Israel and Iran after over a week of back-and-forth attacks. It began when Israel launched airstrikes on Iranian territory, targeting nuclear facilities and military infrastructure.
In response, Iran launched waves of missile attacks toward Israeli territory, some of which were intercepted, while others caused damage.
