Rabat – Morocco’s President of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami and Argentina’s Foreign Minister Diana Mondino held talks centered on enhancing ties between the two countries.

The talks took place on the sidelines of Alami’s visit to Argentina to represent King Mohammed VI at the inaugural ceremony of Argentina’s newly elected president, Javier Milei, on Sunday in Buenos Aires.

In a statement to the local media, Mondino stated that the “very fruitful” discussion with Alami provided an opportunity to address several issues of shared interest between both nations.

Given their complementary economies, the minister iterated that Argentina aspires to deepen its cultural and economic ties with the North African country.

Additionally, she stressed that the two nations can accomplish a great deal together, thanks to their cultural diversity.

For his part, Alami said that the main objective of the discussion with the Argentinian minister was to explore strategies for enhancing the favorable ties between the Republic of Argentina and the Kingdom of Morocco.

He referenced the most recent royal speech on the occasion of the Green March, when the monarch King Mohammed VI announced a significant project aiming to reinforce regional cooperation and sustainable development along the Atlantic Coast.

The project sought to open a window across the Atlantic, encompassing countries in Argentina and Latin America to build a bridge connecting more than twenty African nations, he added.

According to Alami, the discussion with Mondino also covered methods to capitalize on Morocco’s expertise, namely in sea fishing, phosphate, and fertilizer industries.

Highlighting their shared perspectives on several matters of mutual importance, the Moroccan official praised the two countries for their reciprocal support of one another in legislative forums and other international fora.
