A series of projects with a budget of around $2 million are being implemented during the fourth quarter of 2025 in support of the Palestinian population, announced Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, Director of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency (BMAQ), on Tuesday in Rabat.
Speaking on the occasion of the launch of the 2025-2026 social and economic season in Al-Quds, Cherkaoui explained that the Agency began Monday the execution of several projects for families in camps within the governorate of the Holy City, including Kalandia, Al-Eizariya, and Abu Dis, as well as in towns in the northwest of the governorate.
These projects include sheep and cattle farming, dairy and cheese production, pastry-making, sewing, embroidery, and beauty services, in addition to the distribution of equipped multipurpose kiosks.
The Agency’s teams will also distribute olive-harvesting equipment to Maqdessi farmers as part of the “Aouna” campaign, an initiative designed to strengthen support for Palestinian farmers within the “Somoud” project.
The program is carried out in partnership with entities including the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture, the Al-Quds governorate, and the Land Research Center (LRC) in the Holy City.
Despite a complex context, Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, operating under the Al-Quds Committee, has continued its efforts in favor of Palestinians and their institutions in Al-Quds and in certain areas of the West Bank and Gaza.
Within its annual plan, the Agency launched projects worth MAD 65 million ($6.5 million) during the period from October 7, 2023 to June 30, 2025.
Cherkaoui noted that the Agency also contributed to Morocco’s relief efforts for Gaza, launching major initiatives that will benefit some 300 children amputated during Israel’s genocide in Gaza and 500 double orphans, while also supporting education and mental health programs.
To ensure the effectiveness of its projects, he added, the Agency has focused on improving management through digital solutions, especially after obtaining ISO certification in donation management and information security.
For his part, Jamal Choubaki, Palestine’s Ambassador to Morocco, praised “the important role played by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, under the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, who continually reaffirms the need to support the resilience of the Maqdessis.”
These efforts form part of a socio-economic plan aimed at empowering communities in the Holy City and supporting farmers and professionals through tangible development initiatives, the diplomat stressed.
On the occasion of the 2025-2026 social and economic season in Al-Quds, a financing agreement was signed between the Moroccan Association for Support to Reconstruction in Palestine and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, worth MAD 6 million ($600,000).
This agreement, explained Mohamed Jamal Bouzidi, President of the Moroccan Association for Support to Reconstruction in Palestine, reflects Morocco’s ongoing support for the Palestinian people and seeks to strengthen resilience on the ground, empower vulnerable groups, and improve living conditions in Al-Quds and Gaza.
The agreement covers income-generating projects for vulnerable groups, olive harvest support for farmers in Al-Quds villages, distribution of food baskets in Gaza, an education project for children in the Strip, the installation of a camp for displaced people of Moroccan origin or nationality in Gaza, and an emergency intervention to fight skin diseases in shelters hosting the displaced.
