Rabat – The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery announced today that Morocco’s under-20 national football team — crowned World Cup champions in Chile — will be honored with a hero’s welcome on Wednesday, October 22.

The reception is under King Mohammed VI’s high instructions.

The monarch will first receive the team at the Royal Palace in Rabat before a grand public celebration takes place along Avenue Mohammed V, starting around 6:30 p.m.

Morocco’s national team made stellar performances throughout the World Cup competition in Chile. They won the final against Argentina 2-0.

Following the victory, King Mohammed VI sent a heartfelt message to the national football team.

“Just as you delighted and brought joy to passionate football fans, you have also filled us with happiness, along with the entire Moroccan people,” King Mohammed VI said.

The monarch added that he followed the national team’s journey throughout the competition with profound pride, offering his warm congratulations on this historic achievement.

The King also saluted the Atlas Cubs’ self-confidence, harmony, and spirit of cohesion.

He commended the team’s outstanding professional performance, celebrating all components of the champion lion cubs, including coaches, players, and technical and administrative staff.
