Rabat – Kenitra’s security department arrested three minor students suspected of assaulting a person with special needs, following the circulation of a disturbing video on social media.
The footage, which shows a group of individuals violently targeting a disabled person on a public street in Souk Larbaa Gharb, prompted swift intervention from authorities.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) confirmed that investigations linked the incident to a criminal case that is already under the jurisdiction of the Souk Larbaa Gharb regional security commission.
“Investigations and inquiries conducted in light of the video led to the identification and arrest of the suspects,” the DGSN said in a statement.
The three suspects, minors between 13 and 15 years old, were placed under surveillance as part of a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor.
Authorities said the ongoing probe aims to determine the full circumstances and motives behind the assault.
The incident has sparked public outrage online, with many calling for stronger measures to prevent violence against vulnerable individuals and to promote accountability, even among minors.
