Rabat – On Tuesday, the Judicial Police Brigade in Ksar El-Kebir arrested a 16-year-old on suspicion of involvement in the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl.
According to security sources, the case unfolded when the victim’s family reported her missing. Shortly after, her body was discovered in an open area, bearing signs of extreme violence.
Investigators quickly identified a suspect, a neighbor of the victim, and arrested him the same afternoon.
Preliminary findings indicate the teenager lured the child before raping her and fatally attacking her.
The suspect is now under judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor, tasked with uncovering the circumstances, motives, and full details behind the crime.
Authorities have stressed that the investigation remains ongoing and that all legal measures are being pursued.
The case has sparked widespread shock in the local community, raising renewed concerns about child safety and the need for stronger protective measures.
In August, a 13-year-old boy, Bachir, suffered a violent gang rape during the annual Moulay Abdellah Amghar festival in El Jadida province. The boy fell prey to 14 men who drugged him and raped him repeatedly over several days.
