It was a debut to forget for En-Nesyri as Al-Ittihad fell 2–0 to Al-Nassr on Matchday 21. The Moroccan international, who just signed a long-term deal after leaving Turkey, found himself under fire from the fans for a lackluster performance.

He was largely invisible upfront, failing to spark the attack in what turned out to be a disappointing night for the Jeddah giants.

Despite playing the full 90 minutes, he barely touched the ball in dangerous areas. He didn’t manage a single shot on target, partly because he was starved of service and partly because Al-Nassr’s defense completely shut him down.

His statistical impact was minimal. The 28-year-old recorded no attempts on target and modest involvement in attacking actions. And this sparked disappointment across social media, where many fans had hoped his arrival would help fill the creative void left by former star Karim Benzema.

After a rollercoaster of a transfer from Turkey that was almost derailed by administrative errors, the Moroccan striker is finally an Al-Ittihad player. His arrival was the big move of the winter window, as he was brought in specifically to sharpen Al-Ittihad’s attack and help the club chase down some silverware in the second half of the season.

But after such a quiet debut, fans didn’t hold back on social media. Many are already questioning if En-Nesyri can actually fit into the team’s style of play or if he’ll struggle to live up to the massive hype of being Benzema’s successor

However, it’s safe to say that even though the initial pressure has been pretty intense, he’s definitely going to get more chances to settle in and find his rhythm in the Saudi Pro League.
