Rabat – Driss El Jabli produced one of the most striking goals of the season as MAS Fes beat Wydad Casablanca 1-0 in the Botola Pro. The goal came late, in the 80th minute, and it decided the course of the match.

The ball reached El Jabli just outside the box. He controlled it cleanly. No rush, no hesitation. Then came the unexpected. Instead of setting up for a regular shot, he went for a rabona. The strike curled high, bending past the goalkeeper and into the top corner.

It was not just the finish, but the timing, the confidence, and the execution.

El Jabli stood a step outside the area. A defender closed in. Still, he chose the difficult option. The ball lifted, curved, and dropped perfectly.

For a second, the stadium froze. Then the reaction came.

El Jabli jumped over the advertising boards and ran straight to his teammates. Even players on the other side could only watch. Among them was Nordin Amrabat, who saw the goal from close range.

Global reaction follows quickly

The goal did not stay local.

Within minutes, clips spread online. Then came the reaction from international media.

Spanish outlet Diario AS described it as “ the best goal of the year.” “fans are massively calling for the 2026 Puskás. It’s hypnotic,”they wrote on X.

French newspaper L’Equipe also focused on the moment.

“It’s an incredible goal,” they wrote. They pointed out the context. The goal came in the 80th minute and gave MAS Fes the win.

They also noted that the shot might have taken a slight deflection, but that did not take away from the brilliance of the move itself.

“The gesture remains incredible,” they added, explaining the difficulty of pulling off a rabona, especially from a player not known for this kind of finish.

German media outlet DW Sport went even further.“It’s just April, but we might already have our Puskás award of 2026,” they wrote. “Rabona of the century.”

The strike now enters the early conversation for the Puskás Award, given each year to the best goal in world football.
