Rabat – On Saturday, Spanish airline Binter resumed its direct international flights between the Moroccan city of Fez and the Canary Islands.
After a flight lasting 3 hours and 15 minutes, the Binter NT 6428 flight from the Canary Islands landed at Fez-Saiss airport at around 2.30pm, with some 70 passengers of various nationalities aboard.
The flight, which improves the airline’s presence in Morocco, will be run on a round-trip basis every Saturday.
International communications manager at Binter Borja Bethencourt Munoz stressed in a statement to MAP’s M24 news channel that “with the resumption of this route, which will link the Canaries to Morocco’s third city, Binter is launching its most important program of links with Morocco in joint cooperation with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT).”
According to Munoz, the airline has placed more than 78,000 seats on sale for 2023, distributed over 36 weekly flights serving 11 routes to eight destinations in the area of North Africa: Fez, Marrakech, Agadir, Guelmim, Laayoune, Dakhla, as well as Tangier and Essaouira, which were just recently added to the Spanish airline’s list.
He continued by stating that Binter is well-known for the excellence of its service and that travelers on these routes will benefit from the unique advantages of the goods and services provided by the company.
These include premium on-board service that is centered on delivering the best customer experience, as well as generous benefits offered on board.
In June, the airline crossed the milestone of carrying 80 million passengers since its founding in 1989, according to the official.
Talking about the key to Binter’s expansion, the manager explained that it lies in its ATR 72 fleet and Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, perfectly suited to its type of operation.
He also noted that the airline has gradually renewed and acquired these aircrafts to have one of the most modern fleets in the country, as recognized by the Swiss airline intelligence provider, Ch-Aviation.
Binter currently operates a fleet of 31 aircrafts, including 26 ATRs and five Embraers, and will soon receive three turboprops.
This year, the Spanish company will start receiving the five jet engines purchased from Embraer in 2022, to which it will add six other aircrafts acquired this month.
By the end of 2025, Binter is set to make up a fleet of 16 jet engines.
