Join on Telegram Rabat – The Social Organization for Animal Protection announced that it filed a complaint against Ayoub Ben Nsns, a controversial YouTuber, who stirred backlash for a video involving a dog.
The YouTuber, known as Ayoub Bn Nsns, recently published graphic content in a video, which shows him skinning and cooking a dog, presenting it as an “Eid al-Adha sacrifice.”
The social animal protection NGO filed a complaint before the court of First Instance in Tamsena near Rabat.
The association said in a statement today that the NGO’s president and legal advisor is following the legal proceedings in the court, stressing that the measure falls within the framework of the organization’s role in defending animal protection causes to promote a culture of respect for the law, and to contribute to the protection of public health and the human as well as the ethical values upon which Morocco society is founded.
“The organization confirms that it has provided the competent authorities with all the information and documents available to it, while expressing its full confidence in the independence of the judiciary and in the work of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the facts presented and take whatever measures it deems appropriate in accordance with the law,” the organization said in its statement.
The NGO reiterated its commitment to continuing to promote efforts to ensure animal welfare, raise public awareness about the importance of respecting living beings, and operate within the framework of the law and established institutions.
Morocco’s judiciary has been strengthening legal measures against people involved in harming animals.
In 2024, the public prosecutor’s office at the Court of First Instance in Zagora initiated legal proceedings against a farmer accused of mutilating an animal’s limbs.
The incident, which involved the mutilation of a donkey’s limbs, took place in the commune of Rwahe, situated on the outskirts of Zagora.
In April, a court in Essaouira also reportedly ordered a man to pay a fine in compensation to a donkey’s owner after he beat the animal, causing serious injuries.
