Heatwave to Continue in Several Provinces Through Saturday

Temperatures will reach 47 degrees in southern provinces.

Heatwave to Continue in Several Provinces Through Saturday

Rabat – Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts a heatwave and hot weather for several provinces across Morocco.

The Moroccan weather office said temperatures ranging between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius are expected to hit the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Zagora, Errachidia, and Aousserd.

Temperatures between 42 and 45 degrees are expected in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Marrakech, Rehamna, Youssifia, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Khenifra, and Taounate from Thursday to Saturday.

The same temperature will strike Ouezzane, Taroudant, Sidi Kacem, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, and El Kelaa Sraghan.

Hot weather with temperatures ranging between 45 and 47 degrees is also expected on Tuesday in the provinces of Zagora, Tata and Assa Zag.

The office also predicts temperatures between 42 and 45 for Fquih Ben Salah, Taroudant, El Kelaa Sraghna, and Beni Mellal on Wednesday, and from Thursday to Friday in the provinces of Laayoune, Tarfaya, Guelmim, and Tan-Tan.

On Friday and Saturday, the same hot weather will affect Sidi Slimane, Benslimane, Khemisset, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Guercif, and Taza.

Temperatures between 39 and 42 degrees are expected in the provinces of Essaouira and Sidi Ifni on Thursday.
