Rabat – The General Directorate of Meteorology (DMN) forecasts heavy rainfall to persist this week in several provinces across Morocco.
The DMN alert forecasts rainfall, sometimes stormy downpours to hit several provinces, including Ouarzazate, Tata, Taroudant, and Zagora.
The rainfall which will range between 100 and 150 millimeters will hit the aforementioned regions on Thursday from 6 p.m. and will continue until Friday.
Rainfall of 30 to 40 millimeters will hit the provinces of Essaouira, Safi, Inzegane-Ait Melloul, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Tiznit, and Chichaoua from Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. to Thursday at 5 a.m.
The same weather will also be experienced in Taroudant, Guelmim, and Sidi Ifni.
Rainy weather will equally be observed in the provinces of Khemisset, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, Berrechid, Nouaceur, Settat, Benslimane, Mediouna, Casablanca, and Mohammedia from Wednesday 5 p.m. to Thursday 6 a.m.
The same weather will also hit El Jadida and Rabat, while the provinces of Tata, Ouarzazate, Zagora and Taroudant will see rainy weather from Wednesday at 6 p.m. to Thursday.
The downpours will also affect the provinces of Al Haouz, Inzegane Ait Melloul, Chtouka Ait Baha, Chichaoua, Tiznit, Gulemim, and Sidi Ifni from Thursday at 3 p.m. to Friday a 12 p.m.
Heavy snowfall is also part of the alert, with snow ranging between 30 to 80 centimeters expected in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Chichaoua, and Midelt from Tuesday at 6 p.m. to Friday at 6 p.m, as well as in the provinces of Tinghir and Taroudant.
