Rabat – Morocco’s Atlas Lion, Sofiane Boufal is set to arrive in Doha on Tuesday to Join Qatari football club Al-Rayyan SC, according to Qatari media.

Following negotiations, Al-Rayyan is aiming to sign the football player during the winter transfer window, according to Qatari media.

Reports surfaced today indicating that Boufal had left French club Angers, as it seems the player has agreed to move to Al-Rayyan during winter.

Qatari media further indicated that Al-Rayyan is “excited” to close the Boufal transfer deal with Morocco’s star player.

Morocco’s sensational 2022 World Cup run has piqued the interest of some of the world’s top football clubs. Morocco this year finished in fourth place at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Boufal’s market value rose by 25% following his stellar performance at the 2022 World Cup.

Rumors of Boufal’s departure from Angers came days after fellow Atlas Lion Azzedine Ounahi officially left the same club for Olympique de Marseille under a deal that is valued close to $10 million.
