Rabat – Brazil clinches its second win in the FIFA World Cup after defeating Switzerland 1-0 on Monday.

The first half of the game ended with a 0-0 draw. Real Madrid winger Vini Jr. seemed to turn the odds in favor of Brazil with a goal in the early second half, but the goal was soon retracted after VAR analysis.

Manchester United’s midfielder Carlos Henrique Casimiro scored Brazil’s second goal, putting his team on track to reach the 16 round of the World Cup.

Brazil locked horns today with Switzerland without their star player Neymar, who had to sit the game out due to an ankle injury he sustained in the previous game. Neymar will not be joining his team until Brazil’s third World Cup game.

Besides Neymar, the Brazilian team also played today without another star player Danilo Pereira.

Prior to the Monday game, Brazil scored an impressive 2-0 win against Serbia in their opening game. The two teams belong to Group G of the FIFA World Cup.

The two teams were at the top of their group before today’s game, both earning three points from their opening games.

Switzerland’s national team, on the other hand, is notoriously famous for its discipline and diligence. In the Euro 2020, Switzerland even managed to defeat France in the tournament, establishing a reputing as a world-class team.

In its opening game against Cameroon, the team landed a 1-0 win. On the FIFA ranking, Brazil tops the chart, while Switzerland is in 16th place.

Switzerland and Brazil went head to head in two previous World Cups in 1950 and 2018, ending both games in a draw.
