Rabat – Morocco’s Atlas Lions are gearing up for the FIFA World Cup, which will open on November 20 in Qatar.

Seven football players have already arrived in Qatar along with a football delegation led by Abdelmalek Abroun, member of the Royal Football Federation’s Steering Committee.

As the competition nears its start date, 19 other players are expected to join soon, once they finish their commitments with their international football clubs.

Below are the fixtures for Morocco’s national team during the 2022 World Cup:

Morocco vs Croatia

Morocco’s Atlas Lions will start their 2022 World Cup journey by facing Croatia, the 2018 World Cup runner-up.

Croatia played against France in the 2018 World Cup final, but lost 4-2. However, Croatia’s team mesmerized football fans across the world with their spectacular performances during the tournament.

Real Madrid’s key player Luka Modric won the Golden Ball as the FIFA 2018 World Cup best player for his outstanding performances.

The match against Croatia will take place on November 23 at 11:00 am local time at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.

The lineup for the match has not yet been revealed.

Morocco vs Belgium

Morocco will play its second Group F match against Belgium on November 27 at 14:00 local time. Belgium is the second-best football team in the world, according to FIFA’s latest ranking from October 6.

The Atlas Lions will play against the Belgian national team at Al Thumama Stadium.

In October, the Belgium team’s coach Roberto Martinez expressed excitement over the upcoming match, saying that the game is set to be a “big football derby.”

“Unless you are Belgian you do not understand the story but there is a strong link” between the two countries, the coach said.

“There are up to five or six players [in the Moroccan squad] who were born in Belgium and that creates an even stronger link,” he added.

Morocco vs Canada

Morocco’s third game in the World Cup’s Group F will be against Canada on December 1. The match will take place at  16:00 local time at Al Thumama Stadium.

All times provided in the reported fixtures are in Moroccan time.

beIN Sports will air the matches. People who do not have access to the Qatari network have the chance to watch the matches on Morocco’s sports channel.

Head coach Walid Regragui called up 26 players to represent Morocco during World Cup 22 in Qatar

Morocco’s National Company of Radio and Television (SNRT) announced that it obtained the rights to broadcast 10 matches, including the national team’s games during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Prior to their World Cup matches, the Atlas Lions will also travel to the UAE to play a friendly match with Georgia on Thursday, November 17.

The match against Georgia will be the third and last friendly game for the Moroccan national team before their World Cup matches.
