Rabat – The 11-year-old French-Moroccan athlete Aya Bozarhoun won two world belts in Thai boxing and K1 (kickboxing) last weekend in Rome, Italy.

On Saturday 22 October, the young boxing champion won the world title in K1, before she took the crown in Muay Thai, also known as Thai Boxing, the next day, Bozarhoun’s father confirmed the news to Morocco World News.

The Moroccan boxer stood out in both tournaments, beating out the opposition in her age category.

Expressing optimism for his daughter’s future, the champion’s father and former boxer Omar Bozarhoun said, in a statement to Morocco World News, that his child will keep focusing on her studies while practicing her passion.

He added that she will be participating on October 29 at the french cup and on November 12 at Arnsberg in Germany, noting that “it’s not an end but just the beginning, the path is still long.”

Last June, Bozarhoun also distinguished herself at the French Muay Thai and boxing Championship in France, securing four titles after earning the French FSGT title.

Thus, the Moroccan young boxer became the first athlete in tournament history to win four titles in the same year.

Bozarhoun is originally from Tetouan, a city in northern Morocco. She is currently living in Strasbourg, in northeastern France.

In addition to her athletic enthusiasm, the young champion is a fifth-grade student at Strasbourg’s Solignac high school.

After only a year of boxing practice, Bozarhoun gained international notice.

In early May, the young Franco-Moroccan won the national championship of the French Academy of Muay Thai in the category of under 37 kilograms, as well as the championship title of the French Federation of Kickboxing, Muay Thai.

Bozarhoun also won the French K-1 kickboxing title in the junior category last April, after winning the Grand Est championship in January.

Already a four-time French and German champion, the young boxer will compete for her first European crown in Germany in three weeks.
