Rabat – After the successful organization of TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Morocco’s capital will host the upcoming TotalEnergies Super Cup Final on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
This year’s TotalEnergies Super Cup Final will be played by Morocco’s RS Berkane and Wydad Athletic Club, the winner of the CAF Champions League, at 8 p.m (GMT+1) at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), it is Morocco’s sixth final at the TotalEnergies Super Cup and the fourth final for the Casablanca-based football club Wydad AC.
In May, Wydad won its third CAF Champions League title after beating Egypt’s Al Ahly 2-0 in a tense game at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
Wydad is yet again preparing for another much-anticipated final only a few weeks after the departure of its former coach Walid Regragui who was recently appointed head coach of the Moroccan national team.

Casablanca, Morocco’s economic hub, has hosted the African Super Cup Final on three occasions, placing it second to Cairo which hosted a total of six finals over the past years.
With less than five days left until the final, the game will mark the second time two teams from the same country face each other in the continental tournament.
The first occasion was in January 1994 in Johannesburg, South Africa, when the Egyptian giants Zamalek and Al Ahly played each other.
