Fez – The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup draw placed Morocco’s national team in Group A, alongside India, Brazil, and the USA.
The draw took place today at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the football world’s most prestigious underage competition, will feature 16 teams and is scheduled to be held between October 11 and 30 in India.
Earlier this month, Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses clinched their first-ever qualification to the World Cup after beating Ghana 4-2 during penalties (2-2 on aggregate) in a breathless game held at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.

Ahead of the final draw, FIFA divided the competing teams into four categories based on their world ranking and performance.
Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses appeared in the fourth group alongside Chile, Colombia, and Tanzania.
The first group included the hosts, India, along with Japan, Spain, and Germany. The second group comprised Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and New Zealand, while the third featured the USA, Nigeria, France, and China.
Placed in Group A, Brazil, one of the world’s highest-ranking teams, is expected to be Morocco’s toughest opponent.
With its first-ever participation in the football world’s biggest stage, the Moroccan team aspires to build on its historic qualification and play high quality football against the world’s greatest teams.
