Rabat – Eid Al-Fitr 2022 will be on May 2 in Qatar, the International Astronomy Center announced on April 20.
Eid Al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan. During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast every day from sunrise until sunset.
It is too early to see the crescent that marks the end of Ramadan month. As a result, Qatar has yet to officially announce a specific date for Eid Al-Fitr. The astronomy center has said that the crescent will only be able to be seen via telescope on May 1.
Eid Al-Fitr Holiday usually lasts for three days. It will start in most Arabic and Islamic countries on Monday May 2, and end on May 4.
According to Al Jazeera, Qatar plans to announce the start of the Eid Al-Fitr holiday 2022 on Monday May 2, the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, and it will last until Wednesday, May 4.
The same news source also said that Qatar might consider starting the Eid Al-Fitr holiday on Sunday, May 1, and ending it on Thursday, May 5. However, as of Tuesday nothing has been officially confirmed.
During the holidays, schools and work in most public and private sectors stops.

Eid Al-Fitr is the first of two official religious holidays observed throughout the Islamic world. Muslims participate in special morning prayers during Eid al-Fitr, greet each other with formal embraces, and exchange greetings of “Eid Mubarak,” or “Have a blessed Eid.”
Eid Al-Fitr is also an opportunity for families and friends to gather and celebrate with food and drink, exchange gifts, and dress up in new clothes.
