Fez – The Indiana Jones film crew in Morocco, was shocked by the death of 54-year old camera technician Nic Cupac, who died in his hotel room in Fez.

The reason of the death is not announced, but it is deemed to be of natural causes.

Morocco World News sources confirmed police do not expect foul play regarding the cause of death, given that the deceased suffered from breathing problems.

Cupac was one of 100 crew members who are now filming a stunt sequence in Fez for the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones movie series.

The veteran technician has long contributed to the film industry and built his experience working on movies such as Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. He recently flew to Morocco to assist in the production of the upcoming Indian Jones movie.

Members of the crew paid tribute and expressed their sincere appreciation for the deceased. The Sun reported a member saying, “I’m heartbroken. Nic was such a lovely man.” Another colleague described Cupac as  “one of the very best — taught me so much when I was starting out.”

Morocco’s decision to ban flights to the United Kingdom owing to the deteriorating COVID-19 epidemic in Britain has impacted the filming of Indiana Jones 5.

The Indiana Jones film crew began filming in Fez on October 17 and will continue through the beginning of December 2021, including locations in Fez and Oujda.

However, those who have arrived in Morocco will find it difficult to return home due to the kingdom’s recent announcement to ban flights to and from a number of countries.

The Moroccan government has been adapting its COVID-19 travel measures vis-a-vis the epidemiological situation at home and abroad.

The country has been under a declared state of emergency since March 20, 2020, with the government currently in the process of gradually relaxing COVID-19 measures based on the prevailing infection rates.

Despite the improving epidemiological situation in the country, Morocco is still adopting preemptive measures to curb the spread of the virus, especially with the emergence of new variants.
