Rabat – The number of people who received the third dose, or “booster shot” of COVID-19 vaccines in Morocco reached 111,577, as of Thursday, October 7.
The number of fully vaccinated people mounted to 19,913,618.
People who received the first dose of the vaccines in Morocco stands at 22,996,886.
Morocco aims to vaccinate 33 million, or 80%, of its population by December.
In the past 24 hours, the country recorded 668 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 937,631.
Recoveries reached 915,017 after 1,788 people had been declared recovered in the past 24 hours.
Active cases stand at 8,201, including 698 people in critical conditions.
Morocco carried out 13,124 COVID-19 tests in the past 24 hours. The number of tests that was carried out in Morocco since March 2020 stands at 8,867,027.
The fatality rate stands at 1.5%, while the recovery rate climbed to 97.6%.
The Casablanca-Settat region recorded the most cases today (231 cases, and six deaths).
Rabat-Sale Kenitra region comes second with 221 cases and seven deaths, followed by Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima (44 cases, one deaths), Marrakech-Safi (31 cases, two deaths), Oriental (26 cases, one death), and Beni Mellal Khenifra (25 cases, three deaths).
Dakhla Oued Eddahab recorded 21 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Laayoune Sakia El Hamra (17 cases, one death), Souss Massa (12 cases, one death), Draa Tafilalet (11 cases), and Guelmim-Oued Noun (three cases, one death).
