Morocco Records 2,205 New COVID-19 Cases, 22 Deaths

Health authorities recorded 2,205 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total figure of Morocco’s confirmed cases to 581,477 as of July 26.

Rabat – Health authorities recorded 2,205 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total figure of Morocco’s confirmed cases to 581,477 as of July 26.

The Moroccan health ministry also announced 2,823 new recoveries from COVID-19 and 22 coronavirus-related deaths.

The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Morocco currently stands at 546, 425. The number represents a 94% national recovery rate. The number of deaths, meanwhile, reached 9, 611, maintaining a national fatality rate of 1.7%.

Morocco carried out 14,696 new COVID-19 tests. A total of 6,783,237 tests have been conducted since the COVID-19 outbreak in Morocco

Morocco now counts 25,440 active COVID-19 cases, including 734 in severe or critical condition.

The Casablanca-Settat region continues to lead the list of regions recording significant numbers of outbreaks daily.

In the last 24 hours, the region recorded 512 new cases and six deaths, followed by Souss Massa with 456 cases and five deaths, and Marrakech-Safi with 432 cases and four deaths.

With regards to the vaccination campaign, Morocco’s Health Ministry has fully vaccinated 9, 864, 912 people as of Monday, July 26

Approximately 12,061,160 received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The campaign is targeting 33 million people or 80% of the population.

Morocco’s government is urging all citizens to engage in the vaccination campaign to ensure herd immunity amid the increase of COVID-19 and new strains, such as Delta.

Morocco already detected Delta and British variants in the country, urging citizens to continue to comply with all preventive measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.
