Rabat – The UK’s Prince Harry met Morocco’s Head of Government Saad Eddine El Othmani during the UK-Africa Investment Summit in London on January 20.

Harry’s participation will be his last official royal duty before he steps down from his role as Prince of the UK.

The Instagram account of the Sussex Royals shared a photo of El Othmani and Prince Harry shaking hands at the summit.

The Prince also met with leaders from Malawi, Mozambique, and Morocco.

The meetings touched on investment in “renewable energy, jobs, tourism. and environmental issues.”

Despite his intention to step down from royal duties, the Instagram post revealed Prince Harry’s intention to remain engaged with environmental issues and to collaborate with African nations.

“The Duke of Sussex’s love for Africa is well known—he first visited the continent at the age of thirteen and more than two decades later, the people, culture, wildlife, and resilient communities continue to inspire and motivate him every day,” the Instagram post concluded.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, visited Morocco in February 2019. The royals visited several places, including Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, where they spent a day with locals.

The UK and Morocco are determined to boost their cooperation after the UK leaves the EU on January 31.

El Othmani vowed that Morocco will work to strengthen relations between the UK and Africa after Brexit.

Harry and Meghan decided to step down from their royal duties earlier this month, citing the extreme pressure put on them by the British media.

On January 18, the Prince’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, officially confirmed the couple’s decision to resign from royal duties and become financially independent.

Harry is fifth in line for the British throne, after his father, his elder brother, and two nephews.
