Morocco Confirms 18 COVID-19 Fatalities in 24 Hours

Morocco’s Health Ministry confirmed 18 COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing to 14,994 the country’s total COVID-linked death toll.

As the country’s third wave of COVID infections continues to spread , health authorities reported 3,177 new infections and 1,573 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

Since March 2020, when Morocco detected its first COVID cases, Morocco the North African country has to date recorded 1,051,830 COVID-19 cases, including 979,268 recoveries.

With the additional COVID cases recorded in the past 24 hours, Morocco now counts 57,568 active cases, including 490 in critical conditions.

In terms of regional  distribution, Rabat-Sale Kenitra reported the majority of COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours (982 cases, four deaths). Following are Casablanca-Settat (922 cases, 10 deaths), Marrakech-Safi (430 cases), Souss-Massa (276 cases, one death), Beni Mellal Khenifra (152 cases), Oriental (93 cases), and Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima (41 cases, two deaths).

Draa Tafilalet reported 25 cases, followed by Guelmim Oued Noun (12 cases), Dakhla Oued Eddahab (four cases), and Laayoune Sakia El Hamra (two cases).
