Bayern Munich are reportedly edging closer to completing the signing of Moroccan international Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven in one of the biggest transfer moves involving a Moroccan player this summer.

According to Foot Mercato, the Bundesliga champions have already reached a contractual agreement with the 25-year-old midfielder, who is expected to sign a long-term deal running until 2030.

The move comes after an outstanding season from Saibari, who established himself as one of the standout performers in Dutch football. The Moroccan international scored 19 goals and provided nine assists in 37 appearances across all competitions for PSV Eindhoven during the 2025-26 campaign.

His performances helped him secure the Eredivisie Player of the Year award and attracted interest from several major European clubs. However, Bayern Munich have emerged as the frontrunners and are now believed to be in advanced talks with PSV to finalize the transfer.

The transfer fee

While personal terms are reportedly no longer an issue, discussions between the two clubs continue over the final transfer fee. Bayern’s opening offer is said to be worth €45 million plus €5 million in performance-related bonuses.

PSV Eindhoven, however, are reportedly holding out for a guaranteed fee of €50 million before any additional bonuses are included in the deal. The gap between the two valuations remains relatively small, and there is growing confidence among all parties that an agreement will be reached soon.

Close to finalization

According to reports, Saibari is already expected in the United States, where he could undergo medical examinations ahead of officially completing the transfer.

If finalized, the move would represent a major step in the Moroccan midfielder’s career. Joining Bayern Munich would give him the opportunity to compete for domestic and European titles while playing alongside some of the world’s best footballers.

The transfer speculation comes as Saibari is preparing for an important challenge with Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Atlas Lions are set to begin their campaign against Brazil, with the midfielder expected to play a key role in Morocco’s ambitions at the tournament.

Currently valued at €40 million by Transfermarkt, Saibari remains under contract with PSV Eindhoven until 2029. His impressive rise over the past two seasons has made him one of the most sought-after Moroccan players in Europe.

Unless negotiations take an unexpected turn, Bayern Munich appear to be closing in on a deal that could become one of the biggest transfers involving a Moroccan footballer in 2026.
