The Fez Sacred Music Festival is an event where the “Spirit of Fes” as the spiritual capital of Morocco is highlighted. The Festival was founded after the 1991 Gulf War with the aim of fostering tolerance and respect between cultures and civilizations. Over time it has expanded into a gathering of musicians from sacred Hindu, Muslim, Jewish as well as Christian traditions.

The World Sacred Music festival of Fez is widely known as one of the world’s greatest musical events. In its 17th edition, it brings together performers from every single part of the world for fantastic ten days of musical and artistic excellence in Morocco’s ancient holy city of Fez.

For 17 years, the festival‘s main purpose is promote universal peace and reconciliation between peoples. This festival has a national and international impact that grows and goes deeper each year. This year’s edition, the festival will take place from June 3rd to June 12th under the theme “Wisdoms of the World”.

In addition, the styles of spiritual music at the Fez Festival vary from transcendent to trance-inducing. Its charming music is used to hold curative properties, convey religious teachings, and praise God as well as direct people towards the spirit of the deities.
