Yasser Rahmouni has been the first Moroccan jockey to qualify for the Olympics due to be held next summer in London.
As a Moroccan-Dutch born in the Netherlands, he would probably never have represented his country of origin had he not met King Mohammed VI in person while he was on vacation in Morocco.
Noticing the exceptional talent of Rahmouni, King Mohammed IV directed the Moroccan Royal Equestrian Federation to bear all the cost of his training and his participation in the qualifiers.
With this qualification, Rahmouni will be the first Arab and African to participate in the event this summer.
