Fez, April 16, 2013

In collaboration with NASA, the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Al Akhawayn University is organizing “The International Space Apps Challenge” on April 20th and 21st, 2013 on the campus of the Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane.

This challenge is an event based on development of technologies that showcase the talents of brilliant volunteer web developers, engineers, technologists, designers, or anyone who is passionate and ready to have an impact on the world. The challenge will include 75 local events and the virtual participation of individuals from around the world.

This event is unique because Morocco, represented by Al Akhawayn University, is one of the 47 participating countries and will be the local leader for North Africa.

The aim of this international challenge is to rethink what is known and what is not, in order to introduce and implement cost effective new ideas, which can help companies address unexpected and difficult challenges. It is about creating a network of knowledge to produce more than what an individual or a solution could do alone.

This virtual challenge will be open to participants from Al Akhawayn University and other universities in Morocco, as well as participants from other North African countries. It seeks to encourage the world to unite, through a participatory approach, to find solutions to challenges that may contribute to the mission of space exploration.

The student club of astronomy of Al Akhawayn, which already has experience in this field, teams up with the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Al Akhawayn University for this event to be a success.
