RABAT – Mr. Mohamed Moubdii was born in 1954 in Fkih Ben Salah. A graduate of the National Superior School of Industrial Mining Techniques in Alès (France), Mr.Moubdii began his career at the Ministry of Energy and Mines, and was in charge of the implementation of a plan for Rural electrification.

In 1987, he was appointed chief of general and administrative affairs. In 1992, he became a general secretary of the Centre for Development of Renewable Energies (CDER) after its restructuring.

Mr. Moubdii is also a founding member of the Interministerial Committee for Monitoring the Rural Electrification Program (Cosper), a Vice President of the Group of Studies and Research on Renewable Energy and the Environment (GERERE), member of the Bureau of the Moroccan Association of Energy Management (WAGGGS) and a founding member of the International Program for Energy Management (PRISM) for the Maghreb and Middle East region.

Throughout his career, Mr. Moubdii participated in the completion of several studies and helped in setting up and overseeing of many socio-economic projects. He is also a member of several scientific committees of international seminars and conferences and editorial committees of scientific revues, magazines, and technical books. He also participated in several meetings on energy management and regional development.

He was appointed in Harare (Zimbabwe) member of the Monitoring Committee of the World Solar Programme developed with the support of UNESCO.

At the political level, Mr. Moubdii was elected Member of Parliament in 1997, Chairman of the Commission on Social Sectors and Islamic Affairs in the House of Representatives. He is also the Chairman of the Urban Council Fkih Ben Salah, and the vice-president of the Tadla-Azilal region.

From 2002 to 2011, he served as a president of the Committee of interior and decentralization and fundamental sectors.

Mr. Moubdii is also the chairman of the Committee of the productive sectors, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Popular Movement party and member of the Political Bureau of the same party.

Mr. Moubdii is married and is the father of two children.
