ALEPPO – FSA attack the Al-Kindi Hospital in Aleppo used as a base by Syrian regime forces while the Syrian Army demolish the eastern wall of the historic Amawi Mosque.

Free Syrian Army (FSA) troops deployed a bomb-laden vehicle in an attack on Aleppo’s Al-Kindi Hospital used as a base by Syrian regime forces, and made major gains, Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) said in a statement.

Despite the area being controlled by dissidents, the Al-Kindi hospital is strategically important and still remains under the control of the regime forces.

Media spokesman for Tawhid Brigade, Salih Anadani told AA correspondent that the Syrian army troops mounted tank, rocket and missile attacks on the historic Amawi Mosque and the surrounding marketplace located in the old part of Aleppo, demolishing the eastern wall of the mosque, and causing heavy damage to the marketplace.

Anadani said that the mosque had been attacked by Assad forces many times in the past, due to its location on the route to the Citadel of Aleppo, cutting the rescue lines of the regime.

Adding that there were heavy clashes between Islamic Front and Syrian army troops in Karm Al Jabal and Sheikh Said districts of Aleppo, Anadani said that the FSA cut the strategic routes to 80th Brigade and the transportation buildings in the city. “The (Islamic Front) troops attacked regime forces and the Aleppo International Airport with Grad missiles,” Anadani said.
