Rabat- King Mohammed VI has decided to cancel all the ceremonies and festivities marking his birthday, following the death Princess Lalla Fatima Zahra, and in “consideration of the place of the late Princess in the hearts of all members of the illustrious royal family and the Moroccan people,” announced Tuesday a statement from the Ministry of Royal household, Protocol and Chancellery.

“Following the huge ordeal aroused by the great loss of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Fatima Zahra, may God rest his soul, aunt of HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and daughter of the late King Mohammed V, may God have him in his holy mercy, his Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God preserve him, has decided to cancel all the ceremonies and festivities marking his birthday, in consideration of the place of late Princess in the hearts of all members of the illustrious royal family and all the Moroccan people,” said the statement carried by Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).
