Rabat – The average price per minute of mobile communications decreased by 28 % up to June 2014, said the Moroccan telecommunications regulatory authority (ANRT).

The average price per minute was at 0.34 MAD/min net of tax, compared to 0.47 during the same period in 2013, according to new figures released by ANRT on telecommunications market in the 2nd quarter of 2014.

However, landline communications prices grew by 10 % year on year, from 0.68 MAD/min net of tax up to June 2013, to 0.75 at the end of June 2014, the same source added.

Concerning internet, prices by average monthly bill were down by 38 % to 26 MAD /month net of tax in the second quarter of 2014 compared to 42 MAD one year earlier.

The Moroccan telecommunications regulatory authority, who described as “positive” telecommunications indicators, said that 3G and ADSL Internet prices decreased by 41 % and 18 % respectively.

Up to June 2014, the average bill was at 16 MAD/month net of tax for 3G users and 91 for ADSL, ANRT concluded.
