Rabat- The National Zoo of Rabat has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the travel website “TripAdvisor”, in recognition of “the consistency and quality of services provided to visitors.”

According to the TripAdvisor, the Rabat zoo ranks fourth of nineteen attractions of the capital, receiving an overall rating of 4 out of 5 for all services it affords.

The zoo said Wednesday in a statement that they received the award “following the positive opinion issued regularly by local andforeign visitors.” It is among the top four most visited attractions of the capital, after Chellah, a former city south of Rabat that was destroyed by an earthquake in the 18th-century, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Kasbah Udayas, built during the reign of the Almohads.

“After several Medinas, beaches full of young Moroccan men, and dozens of mint tea cups, we were in desperate need of space, peacefulness, and a change of surroundings. We found it in the zoo of Rabat,” said one of the reviews on TripAdvisor.

Most of the reviews were very satisfied by the quantity and diversity of the animals and the way they are kept in the zoo of Rabat.
