Rabat – Former international Moroccan player, Abdeljalil Hadda, best known as Camacho, is suffering in silence and total indifference from Moroccans fans, as well as the Moroccan Football Federation and the team he had played for at the height of his career.
The Moroccan player, who scored three goals for the Atlas Lions in the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, is suffering from kidney failure.
Meanwhile, fans of the Tunisian Club Africain sent messages of support to Moroccan former football player following the news of his illness.
Club Africain supporters took to social media to send their beloved former player a message of gratitude for the years he played with the Tunisian club while wishing him a speedy recovery with blessings.
“Those who have worn our colors, will live forever in our hearts. May God heal you, Camacho,” the message read.
The message was accompanied by an image of skilled-striker Camacho. The only message of support made public has been sent from Tunisia, according to sources cited by Le360 news website.
Abdeljalil Hadda was born March 23, 1972 in Meknès, Morocco. He began playing for CODM Meknès in 1992.
The 43-year-old played with Tunisia’s Club Africain twice; first in 1997-1998, then later returned in 2001-2002 after two year with Sporting de Gijón in Spain.
He was selected to play for Morocco’s national football team 58 times, scoring 19 goals.
Camacho returned to his home country Morocco to play with CODM Meknès, before retiring in 2004.
