Beijing – The president of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Xi Jinping, on Wednesday offered an official welcome ceremony for king Mohammed VI at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Upon his arrival, the Moroccan monarh was welcomed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, State Councillor Yang Jiechi, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission Xu Shaoshi, Commerce minister Gao Hucheng, Chinese president’s personal secretary Ding Xuexiang, Vice-Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Ming and Chinese ambassador to Morocco Sun Shuzhong.

The President of the People’s Republic of China was then greeted by members of the official delegation accompanying HM the King on his visit to China.

King Mohammed VI and President Jinping greeted the national colors to the sound of the national anthems of the two countries. A 21-gun salute was fired to welcome King Mohammed VI.

The King and Chinese President then reviewed a military detachment of the three armies (land, sea, air). One hundred students from the Chinese capital shouted in unison “Welcome to China!” while waving flowers as well as Chinese and Moroccan flags.

The two heads of state then watched a military parade performed by the three armies, which closed the welcome ceremony.

King Mohammed VI is accompanied during the visit by a large delegation, which includes Taieb Fassi Fihri, Fouad Ali El Himma and Yassir Znagui, the king’s advisers, Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mustapha Ramid, Minister of Justice and Freedoms, Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Economy and Finance, Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries and Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Equipment, Transport and Logistics.

The delegation also includes Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, Abdelkader Amara, Minister of Tourism Lahcen Haddad, Minister of Culture, Mohamed Amine Sbihi, Minister Delegate in charge of the Administration of National Defense, Abdelatif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, Minister Delegate in charge of Environment, Hakima El Haite and Morocco’s ambassador to China Jaafar Alj Hakim.
